Sarah Stanley

Sarah Stanley

Sarah Stanley works as a research nurse in Marie Curie Hospice Liverpool. She has a background in palliative care nursing since 2013 and has been involved in research since 2017. Her hospice roles involve supporting research studies, recruitment to studies, co-ordinating journal club and supporting research training for staff.

In 2018, Sarah received the Marie Curie ‘Susie Wilkinson Award’ in recognition for her research development. In 2019 Sarah represented the hospice through their nomination as finalist in the Clinical Research Nursing category of the national UK Nursing Times Awards. In 2022 Sarah was shortlisted as research student of the year at the North-West Coast research and innovation awards.

Sarah has recently completed a Master of Research (MRes) at Liverpool John Moore’s University, in which she carried out a study exploring healthcare professional’s perspectives and experiences of digital legacy in palliative care. This research complements Sarah’s broader research interest, which involves the exploration of the use of technology to support delivery of palliative care.
